CGDL Series Marine Centrifugal Fans

1. Overview

The CGDL series high-efficiency, low-noise marine centrifugal fan (hereinafter referred to as the fan) is a new energy-saving, low-noise marine product developed jointly by our factory and the Shanghai Ship Design and Research Institute. Through dedicated design and machining, the fan offers high efficiency (>80%), low noise, freedom from overload, smooth running and compliance with shipboard requirements. It is suitable for ventilation and air renewal on all types of ships, and for other suitable applications.

2. Features

The CGDL fan uses specially designed aerofoil blades and inlet. The casing dimensions and profile are also designed specifically around the characteristic velocity. The impeller is specially machined, which improves airflow and gives the fan high efficiency and low noise. Because the power characteristic falls again beyond the large-flow region, the motor cannot be damaged by overload.

The design and manufacture of the CGDL fan take full account of the special conditions of shipboard use. The impeller is cast in aluminium and subjected to strict balancing and overspeed testing. The fan therefore also offers good corrosion resistance, resistance to rolling, shock and vibration, smooth running, and safe and reliable operation.

3. Structure

The CGDL fan is of the horizontal, direct-coupled motor type; a vertical design is also available if required.

The CGDL fan impeller is made of aluminium alloy with aerofoil blades and is strictly dynamically balanced, giving excellent aerodynamic performance. The casing and inlet are made of ordinary steel with galvanised and other anti-corrosion finishes. Sizes 40 and above are supplied with a frame (sizes up to 22 have no frame).

For CGDL fan sizes 40–80, the outlet direction can be set between 0° and 225° in steps of 22.5°.
