CLZ Series Marine Axial Flow Fans

1. Overview

The CLZ series marine axial flow fan (hereinafter referred to as the fan) is used for ventilation and air renewal of ship compartments, either supplying air to or extracting air from the compartment. The conveyed air may contain the salt of marine air as well as small amounts of acid vapour from the natural evaporation of batteries. The temperature of the conveyed air must not exceed 50 °C.

2. Basic Structure

The CLZ fan mainly consists of the motor, impeller, casing, diffuser cone and straightener.

The casing is made of sufficiently thick steel plate and consists of an inner cylinder, an outer cylinder and stationary blades. The outer cylinder is flanged at both the inlet and outlet ends for connection to the ventilation duct. The inner and outer cylinders are joined by the stationary blades, which also act as guide vanes.

The motor is a special-purpose motor produced by a motor manufacturer. It has a fully enclosed, self-ventilating construction and is resistant to salt mist, vibration and shock. It is a built-in motor, mounted inside the casing. Motor types are the ZZ T-H marine motor (rated voltage 220 V) and the Y-H marine asynchronous motor (rated voltage 220 V or 380 V).

The impeller consists of a hub and a set of aerofoil blades. It is strictly dynamically balanced and mounted directly on the motor shaft, and is made of corrosion-resistant cast aluminium alloy.

The straightener and diffuser cone are provided to reduce air swirl and improve fan efficiency. The straightener is fitted at the inlet end and the diffuser cone at the outlet end; both are made of FRP.

The surface is coated with a primer and a marine finish.
